Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practice RN II to join our team at North Texas State Hospital - Vernon Campus. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, and contribute to the development of our clinical programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Conduct medical rounds, review patient charts, and order laboratory tests as needed
  • Develop and maintain accurate and timely documentation, including dictation of annual summaries and pre-procedural histories and physicals
  • Provide training and coaching to nurses and APRNs, and assign and prioritize work for assigned staff
Requirements
  • Registered nurse in the State of Texas or in another state that recognizes reciprocity through the Nurse Licensure Compact
  • Certified as an advanced practice registered nurse by the Texas Board of Nursing
  • Must have, or can obtain, a current registration certificate from the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA)
  • Must obtain a National Provider Identifier (NPI#) as defined by Medicare Part B and enroll as a Medicaid and Medicare Part B provider within six months of hire to this position
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of clinical nursing experience
  • One (1) year of work as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
