Pathologist Assistant

Trinity Health is seeking a skilled Pathologist Assistant to support our clinical laboratory team in diagnosing diseases and conditions. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for various laboratory and clinical tasks, including specimen handling, processing, and analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct gross examinations and complex dissections of tissue samples, documenting relevant characteristics.
* Collect and prepare tissue specimens, bodily fluids, and other samples for analysis.
* Assist pathologists in preparing tissue slides for microscopic examination.
* Maintain accurate records of specimen information, test results, and patient data.
* Collaborate with healthcare providers and laboratory staff to ensure efficient specimen processing.
* Contribute to quality control and quality assurance activities in the laboratory.
* Stay updated with advancements in the field of pathology through ongoing education.
Requirements:
* Experience in the field with appropriate educational background (Master's degree in Pathology or a related field preferred).
* Certification as a Pathology Assistant (PA) or eligibility for certification preferred.
* Strong knowledge of anatomy, histology, and pathology principles.
* Proficiency in anatomic laboratory techniques, including frozen section and permanent specimen preparation.
* Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
* Commitment to laboratory safety protocols and ethical standards.
