Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Substance Abuse Therapist to provide individual, group, and educational counseling sessions to clients struggling with substance abuse. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of behavioral health principles and a commitment to delivering high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to support clients in achieving their recovery goals
  • Maintain accurate and detailed case records, adhering to Harbor Light standards
  • Collaborate with referral sources, including gatekeepers and parole/probation agents, to ensure seamless treatment planning and delivery
  • Develop and implement effective discharge plans, including aftercare referrals and letters to referring agencies
  • Participate in clinical staff meetings and team conferences to ensure comprehensive care and program development
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and advancements in treatment modalities through ongoing education and training
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Behavioral Science (Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology)
  • Minimum two years of experience working with substance abuse populations
  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • TB test and police clearance required
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience using Electronic Medical Records systems
