Dental Hygiene Specialist

Genuine Smiles is a reputable family dental practice seeking a skilled Dental Hygienist to join our team on a part-time basis. This role will be based onsite, as it is not eligible for remote work.
The primary focus of a Dental Hygienist at Genuine Smiles is to provide top-quality dental care and promote oral health by offering preventive care. The ideal candidate will have a passion for dental health and a steadfast commitment to patient care.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver Dental Care Services: Perform dental prophylaxis, periodontal scaling, root planing, debridement, and application of fluoride and sealants.
- Evaluate Patient Oral Health: Assess patients' oral health and report findings to dentists.
- Document Patient Care: Document care by charting patient treatments and conditions in patient records.
- Maintain Confidentiality: Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.
- Provide Patient Education: Educate patients by giving oral hygiene and plaque control instructions, as well as postoperative instructions.
- Ensure a Safe Environment: Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Protect Patients and Employees: Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
- Operate Dental Equipment: Ensure operation of dental equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and arranging for repairs.
- Stay Current with Professional Development: Stay current with professional development by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
- Enhance Dental Practice Reputation: Enhance dental practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Current State Licensure: Current state licensure as a Dental Hygienist and certification to practice dental hygiene.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a dental office preferred.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
- Digital Record Keeping: Proficient in using digital record keeping and dental application software.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to perform essential job functions with high attention to detail and professionalism.
- Organizational Skills: Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with both patients and other staff members.
- Continuing Education: Commitment to continuing education in dental techniques and technologies.
- Regulatory Compliance: Capacity to comply with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding dental and health care.
