Maintenance Technician 3 Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician 3 to join our team at Reser's Fine Foods. This role is responsible for performing preventative and urgent maintenance of production machinery and equipment, ensuring our facilities operate efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform duties associated with MT 1 and 2 job descriptions, with a focus on electrical and electronic systems maintenance.
  • Lead projects from a Capital Expenditure (Cap Ex) and Cost Improvement (CI) perspective, driving efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Determine causes and sources of existing and potential electrical and electronic problems, and implement solutions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to monitor and evaluate current or potential problems, and develop action plans to eliminate them.
  • Create and maintain preventative maintenance procedures through PMO activities, ensuring compliance and effectiveness.
  • Perform diagnostics and repair to a variety of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and associated programmable devices.
  • Provide suitable solutions and estimate costs and timelines for equipment breakdowns and improvements.
  • Escalate machine breakdowns to appropriate managers if not resolved within the agreed timeline.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, including facilities-related tasks and special projects.
Requirements
  • Effectively fulfill all requirements of the MT 1 and 2 job descriptions.
  • Champion safety efforts plant-wide, promoting a culture of safety and well-being.
  • Hold technical certification or demonstrate equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience working as a multi-craft industrial technician, with a focus on electrical and electronic systems maintenance.
  • Proven advanced knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems maintenance.
  • Demonstrated advanced troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex problems.
  • Effective leadership skills, with the ability to lead and motivate teams.
Working Conditions

This role operates in a processed and refrigerated foods manufacturing plant, with varying temperatures and humidity levels. The successful candidate will be required to lift up to 50lbs repeatedly, and work in a fast-paced environment with short notice overtime and weekend scheduling.
