Job Title: Senior CNC Programmer

Lenkbar LLC is seeking a highly skilled Senior CNC Programmer to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing department, you will be responsible for driving manufacturing excellence and promoting a culture of continuous improvement, communication, and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the CNC Programming team in creating efficient and accurate CNC programs, setup sheets, and routed instructions.
  • Develop and deploy the use of checklists to ensure CNC programs and setup sheets are delivered on-time and in-full to Machining departments.
  • Optimize CNC program cycle time, tool-life, and setup time reductions through collaboration with vendors and tooling suppliers.
  • Lead the programming team in quoting, contract review, corrective action, and continuous improvement processes.
  • Develop metrics to track CNC programming efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop methods to provide programming support across all shifts.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with other department leads to improve and sustain business processes and project timelines.
  • Train and guide team members, support individual development, and foster team cross-functional training.
  • Operate and troubleshoot CNC machinery, selecting proper cutting tools.
  • Gain a solid understanding of inspection techniques, Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, and OEE.
  • Study sample parts, blue prints, drawings, engineering models, materials, specifications, and other information to determine machining methods and sequences of operations required.
  • Make proper cutting tool selections, taking into consideration factors such as materials, speeds, type of cutters, feeds, control system limitations, and existing company tooling standards.
  • Revise existing programs and documentation to reflect revision changes when required.
  • Review program or blueprints to determine and set machine operations and sequencing, finished workpiece dimensions, and numerical control sequences.
  • Transfer commands from servers to computer numerical control (CNC) modules, using computer network links.
  • Complete all documentation per ISO 13485 and FDA requirements.

Requirements:

  • Exhibit proficiency in CNC programming, comprehend G and M code language, and have a working knowledge of off-line programming software applications.
  • CAD/CAM programming experience required.
  • 5+ years of experience in CNC setup and advanced operation.
  • Ability to program, setup, and operate CNC machining centers as required.
  • Must be able to read and understand drawings, engineering solid models, and be familiar with (GD&T).
  • Experience in ISO/FDA environment preferred.
  • Proficient in the use of all machine shop precision measuring equipment.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and quality control.
  • Excellent manual dexterity, hand/eye coordination.
  • Ability to be highly accurate with a high attention to detail.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve machining, quality, and other issues.
  • Ability to maintain a sense of urgency, handle stressful situations, multitask, and prioritize work.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively, professionally, and constructively.
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership capabilities.

Swiss Programming Requirements:

  • Working knowledge and experience with Laser Swiss machines required.
  • Working knowledge and experience with Citizen Swiss machines required.
  • Working knowledge and experience with Autodesk PartMaker software required.
  • Working knowledge and experience with Solidworks software is a plus.

Work Environment:

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Includes exposure to both office and shop floor environment.
  • Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that can be distracting or uncomfortable.
  • Includes exposure to moving mechanical parts.
  • Includes exposure to coolants and oils.
  • Work environment is temperature controlled.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to sit or stand for up to 12 hours per day.
  • Requires repetitive movement.
  • Requires bending and twisting.
