Transportation Planner

At Houston Engineering, Inc., we are seeking a skilled Transportation Planner to join our team. As a key member of our planning team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of people and goods throughout our communities.
Key Responsibilities- Collect and analyze data to inform transportation planning projects, including multi-modal transportation and corridor studies.
- Develop and review planning documents, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and policies.
- Research and secure funding opportunities for transportation projects, working closely with clients and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with municipalities, state and local agencies, universities, and private clients to understand their transportation needs and develop effective solutions.
- Design and implement public engagement programs to ensure equity and representation in transportation planning efforts.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in planning, urban or regional planning, civil engineering, or a related field, plus five years of professional experience.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, with strong attention to detail and a focus on big-picture goals.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop and deliver public presentations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, GIS programs, and other relevant applications.
- In-depth knowledge of transportation planning specializations, such as long-range transportation plans, bicycle and pedestrian planning, transit planning, and corridor studies.
