Job Summary

Cone Health is seeking a highly skilled OB/GYN physician to join our team at the Center for Women's Healthcare. As a member of our faculty practice, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of patients and develop your skills in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

* Manage a team of residents and students on labor and delivery shifts
* Evaluate and treat patients in clinics, approximately 10-12 per half day
* Prepare and present didactic teaching sessions
* Participate in rounds
* Manage labor and delivery or maternity assessment unit on a mix of day, night, and weekend shifts

Procedures

* Vaginal deliveries: approximately 200
* Cesarean Section: approximately 120-150
* Operative Deliveries: approximately 10-15
* Post-Partum Tubal Ligation: approximately 30
* D & C / D & E: variable depending on desire to learn
* Circumcision: 40-50
* Colposcopy: 40
* LEEP: approximately 15-20
* IUD insertions: > 30
* Endometrial Biopsies: > 50

Requirements

* Successful completion of Family Practice Residency with good recommendations
* CV and Cover Letter
* Completed 80 vaginal deliveries
* Assisted on 10 cesarean sections
* 10 Circumcisions
* Procedure Logs
* Three (3) Letters of Recommendation

Salary and Benefits

The fellow receives a salary of $68,250 (13-month contract). Benefits include 22 days of sick, vacation, holiday, personal time, plus 5 days for CME, $1500 of CME funds, and occurrence malpractice.

Education/Training

Utilizes literature and attends regional and national meetings to remain current and professionally competent. Participates in patient, staff, and professional education programs. Participates in educational and research programs including didactic material, formal teaching conferences, clinical teaching, staff education conferences, and clinical research.

Liaison

Participates in liaison duties with the other professional staff, and in development of patient referral sources. Keeps referring physicians informed of care and outcomes.

Patient Care

Provides direct and indirect patient care to the assigned areas. Provides medical supervision of the interdisciplinary team and supervises residents and medical students in all aspects of their assigned duties. Participates in clinical research projects of interest. Provides accurate and timely documentation and sign off of care to establish up-to-date medical records for billing purposes.

Quality and Safety

Participates, as needed, in medical audits, quality improvement programs, investigations, peer review, and other inquiries relating to the standards of professional care. Provides medical supervision and leadership to the interdisciplinary team to achieve the maximum benefit for each patient. Ensures safe practice standards and regulatory compliance.

Quality Improvement

Engages in continuous improvements and use of evidence-based practices working towards preeminent healthcare and service (with outcomes moving into the 90th percentile or above). Maintain records in accordance with the policies of MCHS, applicable laws and regulations. Participates in development of clinical guidelines, procedures, programs, and makes recommendations to improve quality and efficiency of care. Shares specifically designated on-call responsibilities with other physician members of the assigned areas.
