About the Intellectual Property Patent Agent/Technical Advisor Role

Weitzman Law Offices, LLC, a boutique firm specializing in intellectual property law, is looking for a dedicated full-time Patent Agent or Technical Advisor to join our team. This position is based in our office and offers a competitive salary along with a comprehensive benefits package.

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are in search of a full-time Patent Agent or Technical Advisor with a robust background in Computer Science to support the drafting and prosecution of patent applications in sectors such as financial services, software, computing, and electronics. Candidates should hold an undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science and demonstrate strong analytical abilities along with excellent written and verbal communication skills. While registration to practice before the USPTO is preferred, we are open to training an exceptional candidate with a solid computer science foundation who aspires to become a Patent Agent or pursue law school to transition into a Patent Attorney role. Experience in financial services is advantageous but not mandatory. Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience.

Key Qualifications

  • Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Computer Science
  • Outstanding academic performance and communication capabilities
  • Registered Patent Agent or a strong desire to obtain registration
  • Previous experience in patent preparation and prosecution is preferred
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and research competencies
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously
  • Comfortable engaging directly with clients
