We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Survey Party Chief to lead our team of survey technicians in the Engineering industry. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing multiple tasks simultaneously, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all surveying tasks.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and lead a team of survey technicians, ensuring their safety and training them on proper surveying procedures and equipment usage.
- Perform detailed research of land records and previous survey records to obtain data needed for surveys.
- Conduct right-of-way, control profiles, cross sections, and topographic surveys.
- Perform complex calculations and measurements to determine property boundaries, elevations, and other geographical data.
- Locate property corners, lines, and easements, and mark them as necessary.
- Prepare comprehensive reports detailing surveying activities, findings, and recommendations.
- Collaborate with engineers and other professionals to ensure all surveying activities align with project goals and specifications.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and quality standards in all surveying operations.
- Maintain and calibrate surveying equipment to ensure its accuracy and reliability.
- Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, Geomatics, or related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Survey Party Chief or in a similar role in the Engineering industry.
- Proficient in using modern surveying equipment, GPS, and AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of surveying laws, rules, and regulations.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Exceptional mathematical skills and spatial understanding.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and terrains.
- Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to travel as needed.
- Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license is preferred.
