Job Summary:This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong foundation in clinical laboratory science. As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist II, you will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests, including routine and special tests, and interpreting results to ensure accurate diagnoses.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform and determine the accuracy of routine and special laboratory tests
- Evaluate and report test results as instructed by test procedure or section procedure
- Prepare reagents, quality control, and calibrators according to established criteria
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain clinical laboratory instruments and equipment
- Document and maintain records of preventive maintenance and troubleshoot malfunctions
- Assist in evaluating new instruments and establishing maintenance protocols
- Contribute to the positive work climate and overall team effort of the department
- Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science from a NACCLS-approved program or equivalent
- MT/CLS (ASCP) or equivalent certification
- Tennessee State License within six months of hire date
- 12 hours of continuing education annually
