Job Summary:

The Surgical Care Coordinator works under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse in a fast-paced inpatient department. The primary responsibility is to provide direct and indirect patient care, seeking information and clarification as needed. Functions within the scope of practice for unlicensed assistive personnel and adheres to policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides age-specific and developmentally appropriate patient care
  • Functions within the scope of practice for unlicensed assistive personnel
  • Adheres to policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Demonstrates flexibility and accepts changing assignments
  • Utilizes effective interpersonal skills to maximize customer service
  • Contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate
  • Successful completion of an approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program or Medical Assisting (MA) program
  • Minimum six months nursing assistant or MA experience preferred
  • Demonstrates competencies in fundamentals of patient care and knowledge of scope of practice
  • Exhibits strong customer service skills
