Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Wound Care team at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Greater Austin Area. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care, working closely with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality outcomes.
About the Role
This is an ongoing opportunity for a Registered Nurse to work 40 hours per week, with a shift schedule of 8 hours per day. You will be responsible for conducting detailed clinical assessments, prioritizing patient needs, creating, implementing, and evaluating care plans, and adjusting them as necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough clinical assessments to identify patient health issues and create personalized care plans.
- Prioritize patient and family needs, ensuring timely and effective care delivery.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient progress, learning needs, and care plan adjustments.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues, using active listening skills and clear verbal and written expression.
- Foster a positive and respectful therapeutic environment, promoting patient comfort, dignity, and well-being.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A current and valid nursing license.
- BLS certification or completion within 30 days of starting in this role.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
- Strong knowledge of nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines in Texas.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, focusing on health, disease prevention, management, common medications, and their side effects.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to changing situations.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling, payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email.
Salary Information
The estimated salary range for this role is between $85,000 and $110,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
