Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Wastewater Treatment Technician I to join our team at Schwan's Company. As a key member of our manufacturing facility, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our wastewater treatment systems.

Responsibilities
  • Mix and administer chemicals at appropriate dosages and rates as directed, ensuring compliance with EPA, DOT, and OSHA regulations.
  • Clean and service wet wells, catch basins, and septic tank traps, inspecting and maintaining plugs in all designated floor drains.
  • Collect, store, and properly dispose of waste products, including aerosol cans, paint, used brushes and rollers, drums, used absorbents, and oil filters.
  • Drain, clean, and inspect all tanks and pits, and service and operate electronic samplers, catching and testing pH samples.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate records and logs, and may calibrate and operate hazardous gas detectors.
  • Assist in diagnosing hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, or related problems, and apply corrective action as directed.
  • Participate in and successfully complete training directed at increasing job-related trade skills, as mandated by management/supervisor.
  • Perform all duties in compliance with company policies and procedures, and in a safe manner according to State, Federal, and company regulations.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; two-year degree in specialized maintenance trade preferred.
  • 0-1 year of related experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to complete work orders, carry out instructions, and complete required paperwork.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Mechanical knowledge and ability to expand knowledge and skills through vision-the-job and formal training.
  • Ability to obtain a valid forklift license and learn basic computer skills, including SAP Maintenance Module.
  • Good problem-solving skills and demonstrated interpersonal skills sufficient to communicate in a professional manner with co-workers and supervisors.
