Job Summary: Boston Public Schools is seeking a skilled School Psychologist to provide psychological services to students ages pre-school through 22 years old. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic environment, delivering diagnostic, prescriptive, and remedial services to students in public, private, and parochial schools.

Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct timely and comprehensive psychological evaluations for Boston students.
  2. Participate in Individualized Educational Planning Meetings to develop comprehensive educational plans.
  3. Provide consultation services to teachers and other professionals to support student growth and development.
  4. Conduct classroom screenings to inform effective educational strategies.
  5. Offer prevention and counseling services as needed, both individually and in small groups.
  6. Participate in crisis response teams and provide intervention as needed.
  7. Collaborate with the AAF Service Team and other school staff to enhance services for students.
  8. Perform other related duties as requested by the Assistant Director of Psychological Services.

Qualifications:

  • Licensed as a School Psychologist by the Massachusetts Department of Education.
  • Demonstration of competency in the theory, administration, and interpretation of recognized standardized instruments.
  • Ability to write comprehensive and informative reports in English.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Background and experience in an urban setting providing educational and psychological services.
  • Licensed Educational Psychologist.
  • Fluency in one of BPS' official languages: Spanish, Creole (Cape Verdean), Creole (Haitian), Chinese, Vietnamese, Portuguese, or Somali.
