Position Overview

If you enjoy working in an outdoor setting that is both picturesque and dynamic, and you possess a strong sense of independence and motivation, the Grounds Department at Swan Lake Resort may be an ideal fit for you. This role can be offered as either a full-time or part-time seasonal position. The primary responsibility of the Grounds Department is to maintain the resort's property and golf courses to uphold an exceptional standard of quality.

Core Responsibilities

To excel in this position, an individual must effectively carry out each essential duty. The following requirements illustrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for success:

  • Operate various mowing equipment, including mowers and string trimmers.
  • Utilize front-deck mowers, spreaders, top-dressers, front loaders, Gators, tractors, finish mowers, and greens mowers.
  • Mow greens, aprons, fairways, roughs, tees, and additional designated areas.
  • Edge, rake, and maintain sand bunkers.
  • Aerate greens, verticut tees and greens, spike greens, and operate other machinery as instructed.
  • Set tee markers and cups on greens as directed; sand and seed divots in tee and drop areas.
  • Occasionally engage in hand digging and heavy lifting tasks.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum age of 16 years.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Willingness to work in various outdoor weather conditions.
  • Ability to exert physical effort in lifting and transporting items weighing at least 50 pounds.
  • Basic understanding of safe and efficient operation of tractors, mowers, and other motorized equipment.
  • Capability to utilize hand and power tools and equipment.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
