Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist II

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Ultrasound Technologist II to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing sonographic exams according to departmental protocols and ARDMS standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Attend and comply with all scheduled departmental meetings, staff in-service, and trainings.
  • Provide all services in a professional manner while maintaining good interpersonal relationships with staff and patients.
  • Assist and direct patients in preparation for examination, including changing into gowns and getting patients on/off examination tables.
  • Identify patient's identity and exam order for appropriate procedure.
  • Perform all examinations according to ARDMS standards.
  • Ensure patient safety at all times and report any possible risks to appropriate staff.
  • Perform visual equipment inspections to ensure optimum exam quality and safety.
  • Maintain examination rooms stocked and clean.
  • Perform infection control protocols according to departmental and institutional standards.
  • Document and complete patient exam demographics in a correct and timely fashion.
  • Provide verbal instruction to patients regarding procedures.
  • Maintain all patients' information (confidentially) according to HIPAA compliance standards.
  • Report all examination discrepancies to Radiologist, Dept head, and providers as needed.
  • Utilize departmental communication (telephone/paging systems/computers) according to HHC regulations and departmental policy.
  • Correct any error with archival of examinations in a timely fashion.
  • Inform Department in the event of a lateness or absence before scheduled tour begins.
  • Maintain Customer service expectation according to Network standard.
  • Maintain Sonographic equipment by scheduling PMs and calling for service when needed.
  • Ensure proper documentation of exams and patient identification in PACS.
  • Employ the appropriate marking of anatomical images.
  • Maintain infection control logs as per DOH and ARDMS.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a Sonography or Ultrasound training program from an accredited school.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • RDMS in Nuchal Translucency
  • Certified in OB
