Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Nurse Coordinator RN to join our Medical Surgical team. As a Clinical Nurse Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and coordination of all functions in the unit/department during the designated shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care and coordination of all functions in the unit/department during the designated shift.
- Collaborate with other members of the management team to direct, monitor, and evaluate nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures.
- Serve as a resource person for staff and model a commitment to the organization's vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.
- Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality, patient-centered care.
- Participate in the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, in collaboration with other members of the management team.
- Support the efforts of the facility to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.
- Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff.
- Recommends and implements courses of action, including training and development, conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, completion of performance evaluations, and/or disciplinary actions to ensure a competitively better organization.
- Assist with staff scheduling. Manage all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
- Support proper inventory control and assist with managing supplies and equipment.
About the Unit
The Medical Surgical unit is a 32-bed unit that cares for a variety of Medical/Surgical patients, including diabetes, some cardiac, chronic pain, renal/liver failure, etc.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited diploma, associate or baccalaureate degree nursing program required.
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in an acute care setting required.
