Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional customer service to nursing homes and their residents by fostering relationships built on trust and cooperation.
- Maintain accurate patient profiles in the TWRx system, including medication and insurance details.
- Assist pharmacists in processing medication orders, managing insurance payments, and ensuring accurate dispensing.
- Communicate with insurance providers to resolve claim issues and underpayments.
- Engage with prescribers to obtain necessary authorizations and documentation.
- Collaborate with long-term care facility representatives to meet their needs effectively.
- Utilize the Long Term Care Tracker system for timely communication with the central fill site.
- Support the pharmacist in filling and labeling prescriptions accurately.
- Monitor inventory levels and manage medication orders and supplies.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards by reporting any concerns.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to company guidelines.
- Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.
Desired Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid pharmacy technician registration preferred; exceptional candidates may be considered for training roles.
- Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in a pharmacy setting preferred.
- Ability to maintain a clear record with the Office of the Inspector General.
- Students pursuing careers in pharmacy are encouraged to apply.
Necessary Skills and Abilities:
- Experience with pharmacy medication order input.
- Understanding of third-party pharmacy benefit plans and insurance systems.
- Knowledge of medication names, medical supplies, and pharmacy practices.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and maintain professionalism.
- Proficiency in computer systems and data entry.
Physical Demands:
This position may require long periods of standing and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close and distance vision, as well as depth perception.
