We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Education Professional to join our team at Notre Dame of Maryland University. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing engaging curriculum, leading classroom activities, and providing exceptional care to our young students.

About the Job

As an Education Professional, you will work in our A Child's Place Preschool, where you will create a safe and supportive learning environment that fosters growth and development in children. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing lesson plans based on state-approved curriculum guidelines.
  • Participating in team-teaching approaches to provide comprehensive support to students.
  • Communicating effectively with parents and guardians to ensure seamless collaboration and progress updates.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment, adhering to all necessary health and safety protocols.
  • Supervising children during naptime, outdoor play, and other activities, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.

In addition to these key responsibilities, you will also be expected to:

  • Prepare materials and supplies in advance for activities and lessons.
  • Assist with set-up and clean-up of the classroom each day.
  • Maintain discipline and supervision of children, managing classroom behavior and enforcing rules as needed.
  • Facilitate activities for all children, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Observe, respond promptly to, and document children's needs, emergencies, and conflicts.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in early childhood education, development, or a related field.
  • Teaching certificate from MSDE or another state for early childhood education, or 90 clock hours or equivalent of approved early childhood coursework.
  • Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate is also acceptable.
  • Minimum of 1 year of teaching experience in a licensed early childhood education program.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, safely navigate the playground area, and adapt to moderate to loud noise levels.
