System Safety Engineer Opportunity

Northrop Grumman is seeking a highly skilled System Safety Engineer to join our team in Northridge, CA. As a key member of our Advanced Weapons team, you will be responsible for developing next-generation solutions to protect technology for our nation's warfighter.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply system safety engineering principles to develop safety documentation in accordance with MIL-STD-882E
  • Experience with application of MIL-STD-882E to analyze, recommend, and drive safety into system design, equipment, and procedures
  • Develop, review, update, and approve system safety artifacts and system safety requirements
  • Collaborate with team members to define and architect secured missile weapon systems
  • Participate in risk assessments, resolution, and mishap investigations
Requirements:
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or relevant degree with 5 years of relevant experience or MS in Electrical Engineering or relevant degree with 3 years of relevant experience
  • Familiarity with electrical circuit design
  • Experience with application of MIL-STD-882E
  • History of demonstrated leadership capabilities, ability to work independently, and effectively communicate with internal and external customers
  • Active DoD Security Clearance (investigation completed within last 5 years)
