As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the lives of our patients by providing comprehensive care. Your responsibilities will encompass hands-on tasks such as facilitating outpatient treatments and conducting laboratory tests, as well as supporting services like admitting and discharging patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians and technicians to ensure high-quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
- Support the medical team to enhance productivity and maintain a smooth patient flow.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding their pets' health concerns and provide guidance on membership options, medications, and treatments.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records with the help of practice systems.
- Gather relevant health history from clients and keep medical charts updated.
- Utilize safe restraining techniques, adhere to standard protocols, and ensure clean, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and laboratories.
- Be prepared to mentor and support fellow team members.
- High school diploma or GED (required).
- Preferred: 2 years of continuous experience as a veterinary technician or assistant.
- Commitment to practicing empathetic, high-standard veterinary medicine.
- Team-oriented with a collaborative spirit.
- Possess a positive attitude and provide trustworthy communication to patients, team members, and clients.
- A desire for continuous growth and advancement as a veterinary assistant.
