Key Responsibilities:- Project Design and Development:
- Collaborate with senior landscape architects to develop conceptual and schematic designs for landscape architecture projects.
- Prepare detailed design drawings, plans, sections, and specifications.
- Conduct site analysis, including site inventory and assessment of environmental, social, and physical characteristics.
- Project Coordination and Management:
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure design integrity and project goals are met.
- Assist in the preparation of project schedules, budgets, and proposals.
- Manage project tasks, deadlines, and deliverables under the guidance of senior staff.
- Client Interaction and Communication:
- Participate in client meetings, presentations, and workshops.
- Communicate design concepts and solutions effectively to clients and stakeholders.
- Address client feedback and incorporate revisions into design documents as needed.
- Technical Expertise:
- Utilize software tools such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and GIS for design and documentation.
- Stay updated on industry standards, trends, and best practices in landscape architecture.
- Ensure designs comply with local regulations and codes related to landscape architecture.
- Construction Support:
- Assist in the preparation of construction documents and specifications.
- Collaborate with contractors and consultants during the construction phase to ensure design intent is realized.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress and quality.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with architects, engineers, and other professionals on multidisciplinary projects.
- Mentor junior staff members and support their professional development.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in landscape architecture.
- Hold PLA or eligibility to pursue licensure.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in landscape architecture, preferably in a design firm or consultancy.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), and Microsoft Office. Revit experience is a plus.
- Strong design and graphic presentation skills.
- Knowledge of sustainable design practices and principles.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.

Associate landscape architects often progress to senior roles within the firm, taking on more responsibility for project management, client relations, and design leadership. With experience and additional qualifications, advancement opportunities may include roles such as senior landscape architect, project manager, or principal landscape architect.
