Physician - Internal Medicine Specialist

Ascension Macomb-Oakland Hospital is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible academic general internist to join our Internal Medicine Faculty practice as a faculty member. This is a great opportunity to partner with our hospital to precept and teach medical students and Internal Medicine residents.
Responsibilities:- Evaluate and treat patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills.
- Coordinate discharge planning with case management.
- Recommend, participate in, and work to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
- Accept patient referrals from other physicians.
- Act as admitting, attending, and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses.
- Participate in academic programs, such as medical education and research, as requested.
- Provide appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements.
- Participate in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on-call schedules.
- Physician MD/DO with Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Michigan Board of Medicine.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
- Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency program required.
- ABMS or AOA Internal Medicine board certification or board eligibility with certification after start date.
- Interest in teaching and medical education, health services, research, patient safety, and quality improvement.
