Job Overview:

The Damage Prevention Specialist plays a vital role in supporting Navigator Energy Services' regional pipeline and facility operations. This position emphasizes the importance of fostering strong collaborative relationships and effectively addressing landowner inquiries and concerns, which are essential for the smooth operation of our pipelines. The individual will be responsible for planning and executing initiatives related to Damage Prevention and Public Awareness programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate land-related issues, including damage claims, encroachment monitoring, contamination activities, and drainage improvements, to resolve disputes and manage compensation settlements arising from construction and maintenance operations. Facilitate communication between landowners and management to address concerns.
  • Coordinate land-related activities with various internal departments and external stakeholders, including Operations, Engineering, Construction, Commercial, and Finance.
  • Assist during maintenance and emergency situations by ensuring timely notifications to landowners.
  • Monitor risks associated with third-party activities, damages, and unauthorized actions.
  • Support operational teams in identifying vulnerable areas and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Analyze and track safety metrics related to pipeline operations to identify trends and formulate action plans.
  • Facilitate public awareness liaison meetings to enhance community engagement.
  • Oversee maintenance activities along right-of-way assets as necessary.
  • Manage the execution of damage prevention initiatives and maintenance tasks, including aerial patrols and leak detection surveys.
  • Evaluate the performance of Damage Prevention and Public Awareness programs, identifying areas for enhancement and implementing necessary changes to ensure compliance with regulations and internal standards.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in land management, administration, or a related field, or equivalent years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience as a qualified land professional with a minimum of three years in right-of-way management.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements, particularly D.O.T. 49 CFR Part 195.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across the organization.
  • Knowledge of applicable environmental regulations and federal and state laws.
  • Self-motivated individual capable of working independently and collaboratively to meet project needs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with a focus on problem-solving and critical thinking.
  • Exceptional communication abilities, particularly in influencing and negotiating in sensitive contexts.
  • Experience interacting with a diverse range of stakeholders, including public officials, regulators, engineers, and contractors.
  • Possession of a valid U.S. driver's license is required.
