Job Overview

Position Summary:

As a Residential Fiber Optic Technician at Citynet LLC, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality connectivity solutions for our residential clients. Your expertise in fiber splicing will ensure reliable internet, phone, and television services are effectively installed and maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute the installation of interior fiber-optic cabling and perform splicing at the Network Interface Device (NID) to connect with external fiber-optic lines using advanced fusion splicing techniques.
  • Set up and configure internet, telephone, and television services in homes, adhering to established company protocols.
  • Conduct thorough on-site evaluations to determine the best locations for equipment and wiring to optimize service delivery.
  • Diagnose and rectify technical issues related to internet connectivity, phone service, television reception, and overall equipment performance.
  • Provide guidance to customers on utilizing their equipment and services to enhance their user experience.
  • Maintain precise documentation of service calls, installations, and inventory of equipment.
  • Follow safety regulations and best practices while working in residential settings.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure smooth service provision and high customer satisfaction.
  • Stay updated on technological advancements and industry trends to continuously enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing questions, concerns, and complaints professionally and promptly.
  • Engage in training sessions to improve technical skills and customer service capabilities.

Essential Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree is preferred.
  • Experience in fiber-optic splicing, telecommunications, or cable installation is advantageous.
  • Strong technical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, emphasizing a customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in using basic hand and power tools for installation and maintenance tasks.
  • Capability to climb ladders and access crawl spaces and attics as necessary.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and work in varying weather conditions.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Commitment to following safety protocols and guidelines consistently.

Work Environment:

  • Work will be conducted in both indoor and outdoor settings under all weather conditions.

Additional Duties:

  • Regional travel may be necessary, along with occasional after-hours or overtime work.
