Key Responsibilities:


Assist in the development of a broad spectrum of site/civil engineering services within SGH.
S/he will be involved in:

  • Site layout, grading, roadway and utility design, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, stormwater management, and erosion and sedimentation control.
  • Preparation of calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Engagement in construction administration activities.

Project Involvement:


Contribute to projects that may encompass:

  • Creation of construction documents, specifications, reports, and cost estimates for various civil engineering initiatives.
  • Design or assessment of site grading and layout, utilities, hydrology and hydraulics, and erosion and sedimentation control.
  • Evaluation and design of stormwater drainage systems, including Stormwater Best Management Practices (BMPs).
  • Assessment and design of utility systems.
  • Review of existing pavement and proposed repairs.
  • Support for SGH's Building Technology group in designing drainage systems.
  • Collaboration with SGH's new Building Design Group for civil/site plans for new constructions and site redevelopment.
  • Assistance to SGH's Bridge Group in preparing site plans and roadway designs for bridge projects.
  • Site and utility layout for industrial and utility transmission sites.
  • Conducting site visits to assess and design repairs for existing infrastructure.
  • Investigation of issues related to retaining walls, pavement, stormwater, and sewer systems.
  • Utilization of Civil3D capabilities to support various internal SGH teams.

Qualifications:


A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
Preference will be given to candidates with an MS in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering; educational support is available for those interested in pursuing this degree.

Engineer in Training certification is mandatory.
0-5 years of engineering experience (less experience may be considered if holding an MS).

Demonstrated proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D is preferred.
Experience in organizing and producing plan sets, including plan and profile sheets using Civil3D is advantageous.

Familiarity with civil/site permitting requirements is beneficial.
Knowledge of computer analysis software (e.g., XPStorm, XPSWMM, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, AutoTurn, HydroCAD, etc.) is desirable.

Strong communication and writing skills are essential.
Ability to meet deadlines and work collaboratively in a team environment is crucial.

A valid driver's license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report are required.
Willingness to travel occasionally is expected.
