About the Role:
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Patient Care Assistant to join our team at HealthPartners. As a Patient Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and provide patient care treatments, including discontinuing IVs, restraint monitoring, and collecting patient vitals, weights, and intake & output.
- Collect specimens such as urine, stool, and finger stick blood glucose at the direction of the nurse.
- Respond to patient call lights and requests, communicate with patients and visitors, and assist nurses with procedures as requested.
- Document and chart in our electronic health system.
Requirements:
- Completion of a certified nursing assistant (CNA) training program required (must have occurred within the last 5 years) or experience in an acute care setting as a nursing assistant (minimum of 520 hours and has occurred within the last 5 years).
- Certified Nursing Assistant certification on the Minnesota state registry.
- A current Basic Life Support CPR certification from either the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications:
- High school degree or equivalent.
- Prior experience in acute care or hospital setting.
- Proficiency using Electronic Health Record (EPIC).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
