We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Stress Engineer to join our team at Cirrus Aircraft. As a key member of our stress analysis group, you will be responsible for generating and reviewing structural analysis reports for aircraft primary and secondary structures. Your expertise in aircraft structural behavior, load paths, and stability will be crucial in maintaining continuity of standard work within the stress discipline.
Main Responsibilities
- Generate and review structural analysis reports for aircraft primary and secondary structures, including detail part sizing, strength assessment, and correlation to test articles using classical hand analysis methods and FEA.
- Responsible for stress analysis and test documentation generation and review, including test reports, design reports, test plans, and test reports.
- Complete project assignments and take responsibility for designs and design outcomes.
- Anticipate project tasks and provide guidance and tasks to younger structures engineers.
- Recognized within engineering for structural technical competence.
- Participate in the Material Review Board as a member.
Requirements
- A minimum of 4-year degree and experience in an engineering discipline with at least 5 years of experience in aircraft structural analysis.
- Strong working knowledge of aircraft structure, materials, and manufacturing processes, including composites.
- A thorough understanding of load paths, stability of structures, and aircraft structural behavior, including developing internal loads and component loads.
- Classical hand analysis, including composite laminate plate theory.
- Finite Element Analysis (Nastran preferred).
- Knowledge of FAA Part 23 regulations for aircraft certification.
- Methods for problem-solving and analysis.
- Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
