Your New Role
We are seeking a Vice President of Employment Law to provide comprehensive legal support and guidance to our People & Culture and business leaders. This role will primarily focus on advising our corporate business units and operations while also engaging with various client groups and initiatives across our global corporate functions. You will collaborate closely with our internal employment legal team to deliver expert advice on a wide range of employee relations and labor issues throughout the United States. Additionally, you will work with the international employment legal team to manage global initiatives, including the implementation of international policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal counsel on labor and employment matters.
- Support corporate initiatives and projects, including restructuring reviews and policy harmonization.
- Manage employment legal support for disputes and litigation, including administrative charges and arbitration.
- Analyze, draft, and negotiate employment-related agreements while assisting our contract administration team.
- Lead and manage a team comprising attorneys and paralegals.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 12 years of experience as a practicing labor and employment attorney.
- Experience in a global context, preferably within the media sector.
- Proven track record of supervising or overseeing the work of other attorneys.
- Juris Doctor degree.
- Active member of a state bar in good standing, eligible to practice as in-house counsel in New York or Georgia.
- In-depth knowledge of labor and employment law, particularly in the media industry.
- Proficient in preparing, negotiating, and interpreting complex legal documents.
- Strong research skills to address legal inquiries and provide comprehensive written and oral advice.
- Ability to supervise and evaluate legal, paralegal, and administrative staff.
