Key Responsibilities

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  1. Prepare patients for cardiac stress assessments, including both nuclear and non-nuclear tests, in collaboration with healthcare professionals such as RNs, APRNs, PAs, or MDs. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the procedures while ensuring patient comfort and safety. The role involves maintaining an efficient workflow in the stress laboratory and collaborating daily with physicians, nuclear technicians, nursing staff, and the Non-Invasive supervisor to keep the lab on schedule.
  2. Perform heart monitor placements (e.g., Zio) and manage 24-hour blood pressure monitoring applications and analyses. Conduct ABI/PVR screenings using established techniques and protocols. Clearly explain the equipment and procedures to patients prior to application to ensure accurate study results.
Administrative Duties:

  1. Process billing through the computer system and prepare all examinations for timely physician interpretation and final transcription. Maintain patient records and dispatch reports as required. Assist with revenue cycle management.
  2. Ensure that EKG, stress testing, and 24-hour monitoring equipment are maintained in a clean and safe condition.
  3. Conduct EKGs on patients with a high level of reliability regarding tracing quality and lead placement. Provide clear explanations of the exam to patients and demonstrate confidence in performing the procedure. Immediately report any grossly abnormal findings to a physician, APP, or nurse.
  4. Adhere to regulatory compliance standards within the work environment. Order and stock necessary supplies. Perform quality control checks on equipment and escalate issues to the Supervisor or Assistant Nurse Manager as needed.
  5. Provide support to other NICARD locations based on staffing requirements.
  6. Assist with front desk responsibilities as needed, including patient check-in and discharge, printing daily paperwork, and navigating the pre-financial clearance process.
  7. Perform additional related duties as assigned to uphold a high standard of service.
  8. Complete all required ongoing training and education, including department-specific requirements.
  9. Exhibit professional work behavior by adhering to Service Standards and Success Factors.
  10. Comply with departmental policies and procedures while meeting external agency requirements.
Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent is required. Previous experience in diagnostic cardiology procedures is essential. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are preferred. Basic computer skills are also advantageous.
