Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Therapist to join our team at the Mental Health Association of SCK. As a Therapist, you will provide therapy services to clients in a school setting, working with individuals and groups to promote optimum mental health and recovery from mental illness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide therapeutic services to clients in a school setting, including individual and group therapy sessions.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans based on medical necessity and best practice interventions.
  • Evaluate clients' physical or mental condition based on review of client information, including monitoring of clients' use of medication.
  • Provide therapy services to clients and families, individually and in group sessions, to assist in overcoming mental illness and making changes.
  • Guide clients in the development of skills and strategies for dealing with identified problems.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and clients' progress in resolving identified problems and moving towards defined objectives.
  • Modify treatment activities and approaches as needed in order to adapt with changes in clients' status.
  • Counsel family members to assist them in understanding, dealing with, and supporting clients.
  • Meet with families, probation officers, police, and other interested parties in order to exchange necessary information during the treatment process.
  • Maintain confidentiality of records relating to clients' treatment.
  • Initiate discharge planning with clients to facilitate termination.
  • Gather information about client health needs and resources that could be used in conjunction with therapy.
  • Refer patients, clients, or family members to community resources or to specialists as necessary.
Requirements
  • Master's degree (or above) and licensure in a relevant field of study.
  • Eligibility for approval of 3rd party payer systems and application for a variety of insurance panels.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical and mental dysfunctions.
  • Valid KS driver's license and access to personal vehicle required.
