We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at The Shyft Group. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining plant machinery and equipment, as well as performing work order repairs, inspections, and adjustments.
Key Responsibilities:- Repair and maintain plant machinery and equipment, including welders, pneumatic hand tools, electric hand tools, pumps, motors, compressors, and other equipment.
- Repair or replace control devices, such as switches, sensors, button controllers, valves, motor starters, and other components.
- Perform work order repairs, inspections, and adjustments, and document repair reports.
- Fabricate and modify new and existing equipment as needed.
- Participate in plant safety, health, and environmental programming, and learn and retain skills and practices needed to complete duties in assigned area.
- Read and follow detailed operator instructions, installation drawings, blueprints, and other documents as required.
- Self-check work and inspect prior processes, and use basic hand, electric, cordless, and pneumatic tools as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, and initiate process improvements.
- Support 5S in work area, and communicate with manufacturing and other cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
- Obtain and maintain a valid fork truck/stand up license, and complete daily maintenance log and proper maintenance of equipment.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 4 years of experience in manufacturing and facilities maintenance.
- 1 year of experience with HVAC, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics, and basic electrical repair (120v & 480v).
- Excellent attendance, positive attitude, safety oriented, strong and consistent attention to detail, self-motivated, team oriented, basic computer skills, strong communication skills, verbal and written, and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Must have experience using mills, lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other metal working machinery, and strong mechanical aptitude.
- Knowledge of basic assembly processes preferred.
