We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Technologist to join our team at Riverside Health System. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide specialized care to surgical patients.
    • Build strong relationships with surgeons and other team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Supply Chain Management
    • Anticipate and arrange for necessary equipment and supplies to ensure efficient and cost-effective care.
  • Quality Assurance and Patient Safety
    • Maintain aseptic environments during surgical procedures and adhere to AORN standards.
    • Identify and report any non-compliance or safety concerns.
  • Team Collaboration and Development
    • Participate in training and support of team members, volunteers, and students.
    • Contribute to the development of new equipment and supply evaluations.
  • Specimen Handling and Management
    • Accurately handle and manage specimens and surgical counts.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program or equivalent.
  • Experience
    • At least 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
  • Certifications
    • Surgical Technologist certification from the Virginia Department of Health Professions.
    • CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association or equivalent.
    • Certified Surgical Tech (CST) or Tech in Surgery certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or the National Center for Competency Testing.
