Are you a motivated and detail-oriented individual looking for a challenging role in a dynamic healthcare environment? Intermountain Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our Float Pool team in Iron County.

Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant will provide high-quality patient care in an ambulatory clinic setting, working under the supervision of a Physician or Advanced Practice Clinician. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform basic clerical and office duties, including assembling documents and supplies, and effectively using computer applications.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and monitor appointments, inpatient and outpatient admissions, tests, treatments, and procedures.
  • Maintain medical records and other information, and ensure accurate documentation of patient history, physical, and vital information.
  • Perform business and financial duties, including assigning procedural and diagnostic coding, conducting pre-authorizations and referrals, and facilitating timely billing.
  • Provide clinical functions within acceptable standards of care, including prioritizing patient needs, recognizing and responding to emergency situations, and preparing and maintaining examination and treatment areas.
Requirements:
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program, or 1 year of Medical Assistant experience, or current RN/LPN license.
  • Preferred qualifications include current national MA certification and experience in an outpatient clinic or other healthcare setting.
