Job SummaryAs an Internship Development Professional in the Ready-Mix Talent Tower at CEMEX USA, you'll participate in a 10-week, hands-on program designed to build your career. You'll gain experience through operational rotations and projects in areas such as Safety, Plant Management, Quality Control, Dispatch, Sales, Environmental, and some HR activities. The program offers project-based learning and networking opportunities, providing insights into CEMEX's business lines.
Job Responsibilities- Ability to work outdoors for 50% to 80% of the time.
- Work entails physical labor.
- Hands-on experience through practical, project-based work.
- Lead and adhere to all CEMEX, OSHA, and/or MSHA rules and regulations.
- Meet or exceed company safety standards, be an advocate for safety.
- Perform other job responsibilities as assigned.
- Actively pursuing and have achieved junior year status in one of the following bachelor's degrees: Concrete Industry Management (CIM), Construction Science Management/Construction Management, Business Admin/Business Management, Mechanical Engineer, and Environmental Engineering.
- GPA of 2.5 and above (3.0 preferred).
- 2 years or less of work experience & passion for related industry is preferred - other placements, COOP, internships or university projects.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and a proactive approach to taking on new challenges.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong skills in physical labor and rotating tasks.
- ACI certification, ASTM certification (desirable).
- Rotational schedules involving outdoor work in varying temperatures.
- Ability to work with standard office/computer equipment.
- Ability to participate in required travel as necessary.
- Exposure to environmental conditions including heat, cold, noise, and working outdoors.
- Must wear protective equipment while at the location.
- Work entails physical labor.
- Requires stationary position, traverse, move, transport, and the ability to significant degree to operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place, detect, or position.
- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with employees/visitors as well as function safely around heavy rolling equipment.
- Must be able to perform all job functions which include, but may not be limited to, pushing, turning, and/or pulling of controls.
- Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree.
- Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors.
