About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Installation Specialist to join our team at MasTec Communications Group. As an Installation Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful installation of telecommunications equipment and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret installation specifications for various construction projects
- Determine floor plan layouts, power distribution, backup power supplies, and cabling of central office equipment
- Identify and requisition parts necessary to establish low- and high-level racking, transmission racking, power racking, aisle lighting, and provision for grounding
- Create comprehensive and accurate installation specifications and equipment requirements to fulfill customer orders
- Create or correct location records, drawings, bill of materials (BOM), installation notes, and memos to reflect additions and modifications to customers' location (central office) due to installation or engineering activities
- Review installation specifications
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent GED
- Entry-level or 1 year of technical experience
- Ability to learn customer specifications and standards
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to learn time management while working on customer sites
- Dependability and ability to follow instructions
- Experience in handling power tools
- Ability to lift a minimum of 10 lbs.
- Willingness to travel away from home for several weeks at a time (up to 75%)
