About the Role

Everstory Partners is seeking a seasoned leader to fill the role of Executive Director of Operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our cemetery and funeral home locations, ensuring seamless execution of our mission to provide compassionate and personalized support to individuals and families in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Excellence: Take full ownership of all aspects of your portfolio's daily operations, including full P&L responsibility, to facilitate growth within your markets.
  • Financial Performance: Achieve or exceed budgeted sales and profit levels, reviewing financial results against monthly and quarterly budget goals to ensure efficient operations and adherence to budgeted and cost guidelines.
  • Customer Service: Act as an example of excellent customer service standards for internal and external customers, taking responsibility for escalated customer issues and working to provide timely and satisfactory resolution to complaints or problems.
  • Leadership and Development: Provide motivational leadership to teams to accomplish goals and objectives while working within company guidelines, facilitating weekly managers' meetings to review staffing, development, and training needs, and discussing operating and sales plans, objectives, and results.
  • Talent Management: Proactively recruit, hire, train, and retain team members in accordance with company standards, programs, and materials, writing and conducting timely performance reviews, creating individual development plans, and providing regular follow-up to ensure completion of goals.
  • Inventory Management: Manage merchandise and property inventory for each location within designated portfolio.
  • Vendor Relationships: Influence and manage relationships with vendors to ensure effective partnership in addressing needs for locations or customers.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety standards and plans.
  • Procurement: Select and purchase all necessary materials for operations within budgetary guidelines using approved vendors.
Requirements
  • Business Operations Experience: Strong combination of business operations, quality, continuous improvement, process development, and management experience to provide unique business solutions.
  • Leadership and Trust: Ability to establish and maintain trust with all stakeholders, including customers, business partners, investors, and coworkers.
  • Customer Service Skills: Excellent customer service skills, with experience handling location issues, including internal and external customer complaints and issues.
  • Team Leadership: Experience leading and developing high-performing teams, with prior experience managing multiple departments within multiple locations.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a proactive approach to understanding urgency and prioritizing tasks appropriately.
Education and Experience
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience: Minimum five (5) years of experience in management and personnel supervision, with prior experience with client-facing service operations, process/operations field leadership, and experience running complex operations of varied workflows and disciplines.
  • Accounting Principles: General understanding of basic accounting principles, specifically budgeting procedures.
  • Cemetery/Funeral Home Experience: Previous experience in cemetery or funeral home management is strongly preferred.
