Job Summary:
The Surgical First Assistant plays a vital role in the operating room, supporting the surgeon in the performance of surgical procedures. This position requires a high level of skill, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the surgeon in performing surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Prepare and maintain the operating room, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure smooth and efficient procedure execution.
- Monitor and maintain accurate records of patient information and procedure details.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred).
- Current LA nursing license (RN/LPN only).
- 3 years Operating Room Experience (preferred).
- Current Certified Nurse of the Operating Room (CNOR) or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification (preferred).
- Documented completion of an approved first assisting course (required), certification (CRNFA, or CFA) preferred.
- BLS completed, ACLS preferred.
