About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician II to join our team at Salem Hospital, Inc. This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of sterile processing procedures and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Decontamination and Cleaning of Reusable Medical Devices: Utilize approved PPE to clean and disinfect reusable medical devices, ensuring they are free from contamination and ready for sterilization.
  • Assembly and Packaging of Reusable Medical Devices: Assemble and package reusable medical devices, ensuring they are properly labeled and ready for sterilization.
  • Sterilization and High-Level Disinfection of Reusable Medical Devices: Interpret package labeling to select the appropriate sterilization method and cycle, ensuring all external indicators and labels are securely affixed to items.
  • Inventory Management and Case Cart Build: Utilize patient-specific pick lists to accurately gather surgical instruments and disposable supplies, ensuring the case cart build process is completed efficiently and effectively.
Requirements
  • Excellent organization, operations, people management, and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand medical terminology to follow written instructions and complete various forms and records.
  • Working knowledge of computer programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and instrument tracking software.
  • Certifications: Required: CRCST or CBSPD.
