About the Job

We are seeking a highly motivated Logistics and Transportation Trainee to join our team at US Foods, Inc. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who want to start their career in logistics and transportation.

Job Summary

The Logistics and Transportation Trainee will participate in a comprehensive training program to obtain a CDL permit and eventually a Class A license. As a trainee, you will assist experienced drivers and learn all aspects of the job, including route completion and safety procedures.

You will be responsible for maintaining satisfactory performance in both classroom and on-road instruction, meeting safety regulations, and managing physical demands of the job. The expected base rate for this role is $22/hour.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend and actively participate in all elements of the training program, including classroom exercises and hands-on instruction.
  • Maintain satisfactory feedback from instructors and driver/coaches during the training program.
  • Assist designated US Foods drivers in route completion and learn all aspects of the job.
  • Successfully enroll in CDL school and obtain a CDL permit license within the first 45 days of the training program.
  • Successfully obtain a CDL Class A license within the 90 days of the training program.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must be able to use or learn to use all equipment, global positioning systems (GPS), and tools used to perform the job.
  • Must be able to perform all job functions safely.
  • Must be able to work the scheduled/assigned times and required overtime for the position.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum one year of experience operating heavy motor vehicle equipment and/or one year of experience as a warehouse selector in a foodservice or comparable product environment preferred.
Physical Demands

This job requires frequent standing, walking, driving, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, climbing/balancing, stooping/squatting, kneeling, bending, reaching above shoulder, twisting, grasping objects, manipulating objects, and manual dexterity.
