Job Summary:

This position is responsible for delivering aggregate and asphalt materials in a safe and efficient manner. The ideal candidate will have a valid CDL Class A driver's license and experience operating heavy equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure a safe work environment by following all safety policies and procedures
• Haul asphalt and/or equipment to and from job sites, exercising good judgment regarding work site access, unloading, and operation
• Maintain safe and mechanical operation of truck and trailer, performing routine inspections and maintenance as needed
• Conduct daily pre-trip inspections of truck equipment and supplies, reporting defects and repairs to the maintenance department
• Operate other heavy equipment and perform construction-related duties as required
• Ability to operate a Distributor or Water truck, perform proof-rolls, and fill various paving rollers with water
• Assist the crew in completing projects when duties do not require driving

Requirements:

• Must be safety-oriented and exhibit safe work habits
• Self-motivated and eager to learn new skills
• Ability to work in a team environment and meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
• Willing to work hours associated with the construction industry, including overtime and weekends as needed
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Valid CDL Class A driver's license, with tanker and hazmat endorsements preferred
• Pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen
• Minimum 1 year of CDL Class A driving experience preferred, high school diploma or equivalent required

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to lift 75 pounds
• Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials

Compensation:

The base hourly rate for this position is $25.90. Membership with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Local No. 455 is required upon hire. Condition and terms of employment and benefits are in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
