Position Overview
As a Healthcare Nutrition Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that patients receive the appropriate dietary support in both hospital and long-term care environments.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and retrieve patient meal trays during designated meal times.
- Provide snacks and nourishments to patients as per the directives of healthcare professionals.
- Engage with patients to explain the services offered by the Food and Nutrition Services Department.
- Gather dietary preferences and restrictions from patients and their families.
- Communicate patient dietary requirements effectively to the Food and Nutrition Services team.
- Assist in presenting suitable menu options that align with nutrition care orders.
- Adhere to sanitation protocols by following established cleaning schedules and completing assigned sanitation tasks.
- Manage inventory and restock food supplies in designated areas.
- Maintain accurate temperature logs for food storage units.
- Understand and apply therapeutic diet guidelines, seeking guidance when necessary.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure that all patients' nutritional needs are met.

Qualifications
- Proficiency in English is required; bilingual skills are advantageous but not mandatory.
- This position may involve physical activities such as lifting, bending, and prolonged standing or walking.
- Uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required.
