Job Overview: Cloud Security Specialist

A qualified candidate will collaborate with the program security team to ensure comprehensive security measures are in place. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Expertise in Risk Management Framework: Provide advanced knowledge and execution capabilities in the Risk Management Framework to support NIST SP HHM systems throughout the Assessment and Authorization (A&A) process.
  • Security Documentation: Develop thorough security documentation, including System Security Plans (SSPs), Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms), and other artifacts necessary for the Body of Evidence (BOE) for sponsor approval.
  • Security Controls Identification: Identify security controls and collaborate with engineering, development, and testing teams to create appropriate test plans and procedures.
  • Audit Reviews: Implement security audit reviews to ensure that audit records are collected and analyzed effectively.
  • Testing Coordination: Oversee all security testing activities, coordinating with external assessment teams and technical personnel.
  • AWS Configuration: Configure and support various AWS services to enhance the security posture of the system.
Requirements:

Essential Skills:

  • Proven technical skills and analytical abilities, with experience in system security analysis and risk management.
  • Experience with security protocols in the Amazon Web Services environment.
  • Ability to perform complex technical tasks independently while pursuing overall objectives.
  • Experience in translating system and application knowledge into security test plans and conducting hands-on security assessments.
  • Knowledge of risk management methodologies.
  • Ability to analyze test results and recommend mitigations for identified security issues.
  • Technical experience in system configuration, development, and design, particularly with enterprise systems and hypervisors.
  • Experience with Linux and virtual environments.
  • Documented experience working with public and private information security organizations.
  • Ability to communicate vulnerability findings and risk assessments to senior management.

Possess a comprehensive understanding of Information Security policies and guidance, along with the capability to assist in researching, evaluating, and developing relevant security policies and guidance.
