Lead Quality Control Specialist, Sample Management

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Control Specialist, Sample Management Lead to join our team at Iovance Biotherapeutics Inc. This is a critical role that requires a strong background in sample management, quality control, and logistics.
Key Responsibilities- Sample Inventory Management: Manage the inventory of QC samples, including storage, handling, and shipping, to ensure compliance with procedures and specifications.
- Sample Distribution: Coordinate the distribution of samples internally and externally to testing vendors, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Quality Control: Perform quality control activities, including peer review of logbooks, to ensure adherence to cGMP and SOP procedures.
- Process Improvement: Lead process improvement cross-functional projects to optimize compliance with cGMP and SOP procedures.
- Training and Development: Transfer knowledge to new employees and peers, and complete training sessions to maintain current knowledge base of regulations, corporate policies, and industry best practices.
- Education: Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of relevant GMP and Quality Sample Management experience.
- Skills: Detail-oriented with strong mathematical skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong collaboration, time management, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge: Proven ability to effectively collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills, ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
This position will work in an office, with occasional visits to the Quality Control labs. When in the lab, must be able to work in a Lab setting with various chemical/biochemical exposures, including latex and bleach. Able to work in cleanroom with biohazards, human blood components, and chemicals. Potential exposure to noise and equipment hazards and strong odors.
Physical Demands- Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a stationary position standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to move about inside an office and exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
- Mental Demands: Clear and conceptual thinking ability; excellent judgment, troubleshooting, problem-solving, analysis, and discretion. Ability to handle work-related stress; ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously. Ability to meet deadlines.
