Psychiatric Technician

The Psychiatric Technician (PT) is a vital member of the healthcare team at California Correctional Health Care Services, providing high-quality patient care and support in a correctional setting.

• Provide basic level of general nursing and behavioral and psychiatric nursing care to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or other licensed healthcare professional.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure the delivery of appropriate and timely healthcare to patients.
• Support daily healthcare operations and communicate effectively with patients and other members of the healthcare team.
• Address the ongoing needs of patients and promote the efficient, appropriate, and cost-effective use of healthcare resources.

• Possession of a valid license to practice as a Psychiatric Technician issued by the Bureau of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPTE).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced correctional environment and maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, staff, and other stakeholders.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull equipment and supplies as needed.
