The Moses Lake School District is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (L.P.N.) to join our team. This role plays a vital part in providing health services to students, ensuring a safe and healthy learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the school nurse in delivering basic medical care, administering medications as prescribed, and monitoring student health.\
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff to ensure students' health needs are met.\
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding student health concerns, accidents, and medication needs.\
  • Participate in emergency drills and preparedness activities, ensuring readiness for various health-related scenarios.\
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided, including logs of student visits and medication administration.\
  • Conduct vision, hearing, and other health screenings as directed by the school nurse.\
  • Track student immunization records and report non-compliance to the school nurse for follow-up.\
  • Administer CPR or first aid as necessary in urgent situations.\
  • Respond to medical emergencies on campus and provide initial care while contacting the school nurse, emergency services, or parents.\
  • Provide information to students and staff on managing chronic conditions and adopting healthy lifestyle choices.\
  • Work closely with the school nurse to promote health and wellness programs within the school.\
  • Coordinate with external healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care for students.\
  • Must have excellent attendance.\
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the school district.\

Requirements

  • A current and valid Licensed Practical Nurse license.\
  • A current CPR/1st Aid training certificate.\
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.\
  • Bilingual preferred.\
  • Ability to work cooperatively as a team member and establish positive relationships with parents, students, and school personnel.\
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.\
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts and adapt to changing circumstances.\
  • Reliability, trustworthiness, and integrity.\
  • School nurse certification preferred but not required.\

Compensation and Benefits

\

This position offers an estimated annual salary of $55,000-$70,000 based on experience, plus benefits, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
