Job Title: Supervisor - Inpatient Unit

HopeHealth is seeking an experienced RN to join our team as a Night Supervisor for our Inpatient Unit. As a key member of our clinical leadership team, you will be responsible for providing nursing support, teaching, and training to staff, patients, and families.

Responsibilities:
  • Act as a resource to RNs for all aspects of patient care
  • Assume Charge RN responsibilities for the night shift, taking referrals from the field staff, referral center, and triage
  • Assist with the admission process, ensuring efficient, timely, and safe patient transitions to and from the IPU
  • Proficiency with Omnicell functions
  • Assist staff with bedside clinical applications, including trach care, chest drains, feeding tubes, wound care, and starting/accessing peripheral lines
  • Initiate and sustain orders for medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician; report/participate in investigations related to medication errors
  • Provide professional nursing care by utilizing the nursing process, coordinating all aspects of patient care from initial assessment through discharge
  • Work collaboratively with other interdisciplinary team members
  • Assess patient environment and teach patient/family/caregiver regarding home environment/safety issues when discharge to home is appropriate
  • Identify and supervise ancillary services needed by the patient, using an interdisciplinary approach in developing, supervising, and coordinating the plan of care
  • Initiate referrals to other disciplines and community resources as indicated
  • Utilize nursing assessment in establishing the certified nursing assistant care plan
  • Supervise LPN and paraprofessional staff
  • Assess clinical competencies
  • Assist referral center and triage
  • Provide teaching and assisting on clinical topics and MyUnity functionality
Requirements:
  • BSN or 1-3 years of related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Hospital care and/or hospice experience preferred
  • Demonstrated acceptable patient care and 'high tech' skills
