Position Title: Rehabilitation Medicine Expert
Job Summary: The Rehabilitation Medicine Expert, also known as a Physiatrist, is responsible for assessing and treating patients with physical and/or cognitive challenges stemming from musculoskeletal disorders (such as neck or back pain, or injuries related to sports or work), neurological conditions (including stroke, brain injury, or spinal cord injury), or other medical issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and provide treatment for patients experiencing physical and/or cognitive impairments due to musculoskeletal disorders, neurological conditions, or other medical issues.
- Possess expertise in therapeutic exercises, pharmacological interventions, and injections aimed at managing pain and spasticity; perform electrodiagnostic studies; and utilize prosthetic and orthotic devices to enhance daily functioning.
- Address medical concerns that impact patients' functional abilities.
- Manage a diverse range of medical conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord, nerves, bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, and tendons.
- Employ both innovative and established treatment modalities to optimize patient function and enhance quality of life.
- Specialize in the nonsurgical management of conditions such as orthopedic injuries, spine-related pain and dysfunction, occupational injuries, neurogenic bowel/bladder issues, pressure sore management, spasticity management, and chronic pain.
Qualifications:
- Medical degree valid in the state of New York.
- Completion of four additional years of postdoctoral training in a physical medicine and rehabilitation residency.
- Possession of a valid medical license.
- Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
Compensation: Salary range is $220,000-$270,000.
