Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate nurse to join our Nurse Residency Program at CHRISTUS Health. As a New Grad RN, you will have the opportunity to transition into the fast-paced hospital world with greater confidence, more comprehensive knowledge, and an enhanced set of skills.

The Nurse Residency Pathway is a one-year program designed to support your growth and development as a nurse. You will be paired with experienced mentors and preceptors who will guide and evaluate your progress at every step. Interactive classes and skills labs will be provided to strengthen your educational foundation.

As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work in various units within our hospital system, including The Children's Hospital, Medical Center, Westover Hills, New Braunfels, and San Marcos. Our comprehensive program includes real-time evaluation, a fully-hosted Web-based suite of development applications, and rapid feedback to keep you on track.

To be eligible for this program, you must have an Associate's Degree in Nursing or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN), a GN Permit or Texas RN Licensure, and BLS certification. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are also required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the Nurse Residency Program and complete all required coursework and clinical rotations.
  • Work collaboratively with experienced nurses and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Develop and maintain strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Meet the requirements for the Nurse Residency Program, including completion of all coursework and clinical rotations.
